Our Organisation

Tiny Nation provides nationwide home-based care and education with a difference. Our organisation is built with a strong focus on quality in everything we do. We believe that children have the best chance to flourish when they have secure attachments and a strong sense of belonging in their early years. This foundation is key to emotional, physical and mental growth and wellbeing. From this nourished beginning, happy, healthy and well-adjusted young adults can grow.

The Opportunity

We're currently seeking expressions of interest from an experienced and passionate Visiting Teacher, to support our educators predominately based in Greymouth, with their day-to-day role of caring for and educating the tiny learners in their care. You will play a key role in providing:

  • Inspirational coaching and leadership for educators, continuously modelling best practice to ensure high quality outcomes for children.

  • Leadership and oversight in relation to new enrolments and transitions, curriculum delivery, programme outings and events, health and safety and the general wellbeing of the regional Tiny Nation community.

About You

You will hold a NZ teacher full practising certificate, have a background and passion in supporting home-based early childhood education and care, and a strong knowledge of current early learning theories and practices and a dedication to applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo and tikanga Māori in everyday programme delivery. You will have a passion for play-based learning and the positive contribution it makes to a child’s holistic wellbeing and development. Above all else, you will be dedicated to delivering high-quality outcomes that enable tamariki to reach their full potential through authentic and meaningful relationships.

In addition to the above, you will also be:

  • Passionate and proactive about the growth of the home based ECE sector

  • Able to effectively work autonomously while also positively contributing at a regional and national team level

  • Positive, empathetic and approachable

  • Able to problem solve, with a solution and outcome focus

  • A respected leader and coach

  • An excellent communicator and relationship builder

  • Self-driven and an effective manager of time

  • Competent with related technology, systems and administration tasks.

Our Offering

In addition to providing a rewarding and flexible career in a professional and well-supported organisation with a diverse and great bunch of people, we also provide competitive remuneration and extensive business support/tools including car, phone and laptop. You will also enjoy being able to work out and about in the region, as well as working from home.
