  • Overseeing wastewater and stormwater renewals, pipe replacements, manhole construction, excavation and reinstatement.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, workmanship and quality.
  • Monitoring productivity, hours, plant use and progress, addressing issues before they affect delivery.
  • Ensuring site records, job sheets, photos, testing records and as-built information are completed accurately.
  • Identifying delays, defects and potential variations early, working with management to resolve issues and control costs.
  • Communicating professionally with clients, residents, subcontractors and the wider team.

What You'll Bring

  • A current New Zealand Certifying Drainlayer qualification.
  • Strong hands-on experience in civil drainage, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Proven experience supervising crews and coordinating work across multiple sites.
  • Practical knowledge of line, level and grade, excavation, trench support, dewatering, testing and reinstatement.
  • The ability to plan ahead, keep crews productive and maintain consistent work standards.
  • A practical leadership style, sound judgement and confidence making decisions in the field.
  • A strong focus on health and safety, site documentation and quality.
  • A current driver's licence and relevant plant, site-safety and other required competencies.

Experience working on council infrastructure contracts would be an advantage.

  • Overtime arrangements and the overall package can be discussed with suitable candidates.
  • Relocation assistance may be available for the right person.
  • A genuine opportunity to take ownership of civil crews and influence day-to-day performance.
