Transforming Forestry

Rātā is a Māori-owned forestry and land management business helping landowners improve environmental outcomes, strengthen catchment resilience and make better long-term land-use decisions.

We believe forestry should leave catchments better than how we found them.

Not by chance. By deliberate planning, practical innovation and continuous improvement.

We're seeking a Catchment Resilience Supervisor to join our Forestry Operations & Resources Team.

The Role

Working alongside experienced forestry practitioners, engineers, environmental specialists, GIS professionals and land-use advisers, you'll help plan, assess and improve environmental outcomes across forestry operations.

This role combines:

- Environmental and catchment planning

- Field assessment and monitoring

- Operational and spatial data analysis

- Continuous improvement

- Development of practical, site-specific solutions

You'll work across the full forestry cycle, helping ensure decisions are evidence-based and focused on long-term catchment outcomes.

Why Rātā?

Rātā is not a traditional forestry company.

We are practitioners, thought leaders and trusted connectors working across forestry, resilience, environmental stewardship and land-use optimisation.

Our team integrates expertise in forestry operations, engineering, environmental planning, GIS, resource management, carbon and catchment resilience to solve real-world challenges and help shape the future of forestry in Te Tairāwhiti.

About You

You may come from forestry, engineering, environmental management, land management or a related discipline.

You will be:

- Practical and solutions-focused

- Comfortable in the field and working with data

- Curious, analytical and improvement-minded

- A strong communicator

- Passionate about better forestry and better catchment outcomes
