Customer Service Representative | Masterton

Some people are just as comfortable helping a customer at the counter as they are operating a forklift or organising stock in the yard. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

At Hynds Masterton, you'll be at the heart of our branch operations. One minute you'll be helping a customer find the right solution, the next you'll be preparing an order, unloading a delivery, or processing a quote. It's a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll help deliver the great service, product expertise, and practical support that our customers have come to rely on.

What you'll be doing

  • Helping customers with enquiries, orders, quotes, and product advice
  • Building strong customer relationships and delivering excellent service
  • Processing invoices, credits, and other branch administration
  • Receiving, picking, and dispatching stock
  • Loading and unloading products safely, including forklift operation
  • Supporting stocktakes, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe branch environment

What we're looking for

  • Experience in customer service, trade sales, warehousing, distribution, or a similar environment
  • A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Good computer skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence
  • Forklift Licence (F Endorsement) preferred but not essential
  • Industry experience is a bonus, but we're happy to train someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn

Why Hynds?

  • Health insurance (subject to eligibility)
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Access to company partner discounts
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • A supportive team culture where people matter
  • Career development opportunities within a leading New Zealand business
