Westlake Boys High School is seeking an experienced rugby coach with specialist expertise in backs coaching to join our 1st XV coaching team for 2027.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Coach and wider coaching team to develop and deliver a high-quality rugby programme, with a particular focus on backline performance, attacking strategies and defensive structures.

 Key areas of responsibility include:

• Developing and implementing effective backline attacking plays and strike moves.   

• Coaching backline defensive structures and systems.

• Developing individual and positional skills.

• Leading kicking development, with particular emphasis on tactical kicking and box-kicking.

• Contributing to team preparation, training sessions and match-day performance.

We are looking for a coach with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop young rugby players. Previous coaching experience at a competitive level is desirable, along with a commitment to fostering a positive, high-performance team culture.

This role requires a commitment of approximately 10–12 hours per week, primarily outside of school hours plus match days.
