Centre Cook – Early Childhood Education
All About Children ELC – Sylvia Park and Mt Wellington

Our Sylvia Park and Mt Wellington centres are part of a family-owned and professionally managed group dedicated to building thriving, equitable communities. We partner with families to nurture a whole-child, whole-family approach to early education. Our values of care, respect, growth, learning, belonging and commitment guide everything we do.

We’re looking for an experienced, energetic and caring Cook to join us. Our centres offer welcoming environments where nutritious, enjoyable food plays an important part in each child’s day.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious meals, enjoys working around children and wants to be part of our warm and supportive teams.

About the Role

As our Centre Cook, you’ll prepare nutritious and appealing meals that meet the needs of our tamariki and help create positive mealtime experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing fresh, varied and nutritious meals for children

  • Catering safely for allergies and individual dietary requirements

  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

  • Planning menus and managing food ordering, stock and kitchen organisation

  • Supporting children’s learning through age-appropriate conversations and practical experiences around food

  • Working collaboratively with our teaching teams and providing support where required

  • Helping children develop positive relationships with food

The Cook We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are organised and confident working in a busy kitchen

  • Have a sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe allergy management

  • Take pride in preparing nutritious and enjoyable food

  • Are warm, positive and enjoy being around children

  • Are reliable, flexible and happy to work as part of a team

  • Can manage your time and priorities independently

  • Bring energy, care and a positive attitude to your work

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining our vibrant and supportive teams, where the days are busy and rewarding. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of our tamariki through the food you prepare and the care you bring each day.
