The opportunity
Bring your planning expertise to a role where you can influence projects, strengthen client relationships and help others develop.
With over 25 years of experience, this national planning practice is trusted for delivering smart, practical solutions across both public and private sectors—from large-scale growth strategies to complex consenting and policy work. Its projects are varied, high-impact and built on collaboration.
With offices across New Zealand, you’ll join a team large enough to offer strategic breadth, yet close-knit enough for your contribution to make a difference. You’ll have the autonomy to lead projects, the support of experienced colleagues and opportunities to contribute to the practice’s continued growth.
Based in the heart of Wellington, you’ll join a dynamic, collaborative office with strong connections to the wider national team.
The role
With existing staff relocating to another office within the practice, an opportunity has opened up for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate Planner to deliver high-quality planning advice and take a leading role in projects and client relationships.
Your responsibilities will reflect your experience, with greater scope at Senior Associate level to secure new work and contribute to regional and national business growth.
Your work will include:
You’ll bring a relevant planning qualification and substantial experience in New Zealand’s planning environment are important, with approximately 7+ years for Associate level or 10+ years for Senior Associate. Relevant professional membership, or the ability to obtain it, is preferred.
Your background may be in consenting, policy or a combination of both, supported by sound knowledge of New Zealand’s resource management framework and the ability to provide clear, practical planning advice. The mix of work can reflect your experience and areas of interest.
Comfortable leading projects independently, you can work through complex issues and manage client expectations. You also enjoy sharing your expertise, supporting colleagues and contributing ideas that improve how the team works.
If you’re ready for greater influence, interesting work and the opportunity to build your career within a respected planning practice, we’d love to hear from you.
