Experienced Civil Driver Wanted – Travel, Variety & Hands-On Work!
Are you a confident Class 5 driver with solid civil construction experience? Do you know your way around truck and trailer combinations, tipping operations and transporting machinery and equipment?
We're looking for a reliable, safety-conscious Class 5 Civil Driver who can hit the ground running and isn't afraid to get out of the truck and lend a hand when needed.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are necessarily the same. You'll be operating trucks and trailers, transporting equipment between sites, assisting with civil site activities and working alongside a hardworking crew to get the job done.
Important: This role involves travelling for work and staying away from home for several weeks at a time. You must be comfortable with extended periods away from home and flexible with travel requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:
Operating Class 5 trucks and trailers across civil construction sites.
Transporting machinery, plant and equipment between locations.
Safely loading, securing and unloading equipment, ensuring all loads are properly restrained.
Carrying out tipping operations and material deliveries.
Confidently reversing and manoeuvring truck and trailer combinations, including tight access areas.
Assisting with general civil site duties when required.
Jumping out of the truck and lending a hand to ground crews.
Completing daily vehicle pre-start checks and reporting any mechanical issues.
Carrying out basic vehicle maintenance and keeping equipment clean and tidy.
Following site-specific health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.
Travelling to different project locations and staying away from home for extended periods.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
A full, clean Class 5 driver's licence.
WTR endorsements.
Strong experience operating Road Ranger gearboxes.
Proven experience with truck and trailer combinations.
Previous tipper truck and tipping experience.
Confidence transporting machinery, plant and equipment.
A good understanding of load restraint and securing equipment for transport.
Strong reversing and maneuvering skills, including jack-knifing.
Previous experience working on civil construction projects.
A sound understanding of New Zealand transport regulations and road safety requirements.
Good health and safety awareness, particularly when working on active civil sites.
The ability to confidently complete vehicle pre-start checks.
Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Flexibility and willingness to travel and stay away from home for several weeks at a time.
You'll also need to be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
What we're looking for
We're after someone who is switched on, reliable and takes pride in doing a good job.
You'll be confident behind the wheel, understand the responsibilities that come with transporting heavy equipment and machinery, and be happy to get involved with the team on the ground.
This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys travelling, working on different civil projects and being part of a hardworking crew.
If you're a capable Class 5 operator who enjoys variety, takes safety seriously and isn't afraid of hard work, we'd love to hear from you.
