About us
HomeHub is a wholly owned subsidiary of IAG New Zealand, with branches in major metropolitan cities across the country. We deliver market-leading home reinstatement services for IAG customers, getting people back into their homes after damage and loss.
At a Glance:
Running multiple claims at any one time, at different stages, across multiple trades
On site most days – pre-starts, progress inspections, quality checks and handovers
Reports to Branch / operational lead, working as part of the project reinstatement team
Rostered after hours for a few weeks a year, with additional remuneration
Available to move between branches at short notice for claim volumes or catastrophe events
What the job actually looks like
Own reinstatement claims and customer-direct works end to end, from instruction to invoicing
Validate scope and pricing before any contractor is instructed to site, not after the invoice arrives
Own cost planning, programme, variation management and budget control across your claim portfolio
Source, brief and sequence internal and external trades, engaging them early to reduce claim life
Hold contractors to standard, escalating quality or programme risk early
Own the customer relationship, including the hard conversations about delay and change
Resolve complaints and escalations before they reach the insurer or the Branch Manager
Own health and safety on every site, including Site Specific Safety Plans and ACM protocols
Support Estimation with assessments, scopes and estimates during surge and catastrophe events
Who we are looking for
You have managed residential construction or reinstatement work in New Zealand. You know sequencing, building methods, compliance and health and safety legislation well enough to challenge a contractor on it. You can scope and cost, and you are comfortable defending a number. You are organised enough to run a portfolio, not just a project, and you would rather pick up the phone at 7am than let something drift a week.
What matters most to us: customers dealing with damage to their home are stressed, and how you talk to them matters as much as how you sequence the job.
The essentials:
Residential construction or reinstatement experience, in building, project management/ estimating
Strong grasp of residential building methods, sequencing, NZ compliance and H&S legislation
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent claims, trades and customer relationships
Experience scoping, costing and documenting projects in job management software
Confidence to lead difficult customer conversations with empathy and clarity
Sound judgement on when to escalate, and the discipline to do it early
Full NZ driver licence
This role probably is not for you if:
You have only worked on new builds – this is high-volume, fast-moving work in occupied homes
You would rather manage from an office and send someone else to site
You would prefer not to deal directly with customers on a bad day
You cannot be rostered on-call for a few weeks a year, or moved between branches at short notice
What you get:
Competitive salary and above-minimum KiwiSaver contributions
Company vehicle
Insurance discounts on home, contents and vehicle
Exclusive retailer and supplier discounts through BOOST
Genuine variety – no two claims are the same
The backing of IAG New Zealand behind a hands-on, site-led team
