We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and versatile person to join our team at Quest Palmerston North Hotel in a dual Housekeeping and Reception role.

This position will primarily involve housekeeping duties, with the successful candidate also being cross-trained to work at reception. By combining the two roles, we aim to offer more hours and greater variety than a traditional part-time housekeeping position.

This is a part-time position, although there will be periods when near full-time hours are available, particularly when covering reception shifts during staff leave and other busy periods.

Availability and requirements

Weekend availability is essential. Applicants must be available to work at least one weekend day each week, with weekend shifts arranged on a rotating roster.

Previous hotel reception experience is highly desirable.

Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work.

  • Is friendly, professional and confident dealing with guests.

  • Can work independently and as part of a team.

  • Is reliable, organised and able to manage their time effectively.

  • Is flexible and willing to work across both housekeeping and reception.

  • Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems.
