At Southern Cross Horticulture our goal is to develop and manage the world’s best Kiwifruit Orchards. It all starts in the nursery, where the care we put into every plant sets the standard for everything that follows.

We are looking for a Nursery Worker to join our small but dedicated team of 7. This is a hands-on, varied role where you will work across planting, seedling work and dispatch, and play a real part in getting quality plants out the door. In a team this size, everyone’s contribution counts, and we are looking for someone with energy who will help build the team and make it an enjoyable place to be.

This is predominantly a Monday to Friday role, based in the nursery.

Key responsibilities include:

•          Planting and establishing plants to a high standard

•          Seedling work, caring for young plants and giving them the best possible start

•          Dispatch, preparing and checking orders so plants leave the nursery in top condition

•          Using our systems to record, track and manage stock and orders

•          Operating nursery machinery safely and effectively

•          Following health, safety and quality standards on site

•          Contributing to a positive, supportive team culture

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for people who love working with plants and want to build a career in Horticulture. You will ideally have;

•          A genuine passion for the industry and care for the plants you work with

•          Energy and a positive attitude, with a desire to help build the team

•          Attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work

•          Experience with computer and systems work, or a willingness to learn

•          Confidence working with machinery, or a willingness to be trained

•          Nursery, horticulture or hands-on experience working with plants (a bonus, not essential)

•          A committed attitude with an aspiration to grow and be the best you can be
