We are looking for an experienced workplace relations specialist with strong employee and industrial relations experience, sound employment law knowledge, a pragmatic approach, and exceptional relationship-building skills.  This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded organisation in a specialist role supporting leaders and the People team to navigate complex employment matters with confidence, fairness and sound judgement.

Employing a large and diverse workforce, this organisation is committed to creating positive outcomes for its people, customers and communities.  With a strong values-based culture and a genuine focus on its people, it offers a collaborative environment where expertise is valued and meaningful contribution is encouraged.

In this newly established role, you will provide specialist ER and IR expertise across the organisation, working closely with People Partners, leaders and the wider People team. A key part of the role will be leading and supporting complex or higher-risk employment matters, including disciplinary and performance processes, grievances, investigations, workplace conflict, organisational change and employment disputes.  You will provide specialist industrial relations advice, support the interpretation and application of collective agreements, employment agreements and legislative obligations, and contribute to constructive union engagement and consultation.  Importantly, this role is about more than managing individual employment matters.  You will also help strengthen organisational ER/IR capability by developing practical frameworks, guidance and tools, identifying emerging or systemic employment risks, and coaching leaders and People colleagues to support fair, consistent and sustainable practice.

To be successful, you will bring deep and proven experience across both ER and IR ideally gained within a complex environment.  You will enjoy guiding people through challenging situations and be known for your ability to operate with diplomacy, discretion, sound judgement and a people-centered approach.  A relevant tertiary qualification is expected, while additional study or expertise in employment law will be highly regarded.  If you have the required expertise and this opportunity aligns with your next career move, we would love to hear from you. Please apply through this portal or contact Populous People on 06 875 8446 for a confidential discussion.
