About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Senior Credit Analyst to independently assess complex commercial funding transactions. You will evaluate credit risk, structure profitable deals, and provide well-motivated credit recommendations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in asset-backed lending and equipment finance within asset-intensive industries.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial transactions and asset-backed finance facilities.
- Structure profitable deals, including deposits, repayment terms, and security.
- Analyze financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow predictability.
- Identify red flags, early warning signs, and potential default indicators.
- Review credit applications and reports prepared by junior analysts.
- Present and defend credit recommendations to the credit committee.
Key Requirements
- Degree/qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Risk Management.
- Minimum 5+ years of solid commercial credit analysis experience.
- Proven background in asset-backed lending or equipment finance.
- Advanced Excel skills and credit workflow experience (monday.com).
- Strong understanding of South African compliance frameworks (FICA, NCR).
- Proven independent credit judgment and senior report writing skills.
