About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Workshop Labourer to join the team at Armatec Environmental Ltd in New Plymouth. This is a full-time position based on-site at our industrial fibreglass workshop facility. As a Workshop Labourer, you will play a vital role in supporting our assembly and preparation of fibreglass components, ensuring that our manufacturing activities run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to develop practical skills in a fast-paced industrial environment whilst contributing directly to the success of our operations.
Key responsibilities
Assisting with the assembly and preparation of industrial fibreglass components and products in accordance with work instructions and quality standards
Supporting process work activities, including material handling, positioning, and preparation of items for further processing or dispatch
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment, including regular housekeeping and waste management
Operating basic workshop equipment and machinery under supervision, in compliance with health and safety procedures
Loading, unloading and transporting materials and finished products within the workshop and storage areas
Following all health, safety and environmental procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Supporting senior staff and supervisors with additional tasks as required to meet production deadlines and operational needs
What we're looking for
Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual work in a workshop environment, including lifting, carrying and repetitive tasks
Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to attendance
A genuine willingness to learn and develop practical skills in industrial fibreglass manufacturing
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work to specified standards and procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
Capability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also working independently when required
Good communication skills and the ability to understand and respond to workplace instructions
Enthusiasm for health and safety practices and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards
Previous workshop or manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
A valid driver's licence may be beneficial for some aspects of the role
