Source & Supply Food Co is an Auckland food manufacturer supplying a range of quality products to retail and foodservice customers. We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Management Accountant to keep our day-to-day finance operations running smoothly and provide reliable month-end reporting and cost information.
This role will take ownership of the regular accounting cycle and be the first point of contact for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchase order queries. You’ll work closely with our Head of Finance, who will rely on you to keep the fundamentals accurate, up to date and well controlled, freeing them to focus on planning and commercial support.
What you’ll be responsible for
Managing day-to-day finance operations and responding to accounts payable, supplier and purchase order queries
Processing supplier invoices, receipts, company credit cards and staff expenses, and coordinating supplier payments
Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigating differences
Coordinating the month-end close, including journals, accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, loan entries and general ledger review
Managing inventory accounting, stocktake adjustments, purchase order accruals, cost rolls, standard costs and cost variance checks
Preparing monthly management reports, customer accruals and rebates, cash flow updates and supporting schedules for financial statements
Monitoring the daily cash position and maintaining cash flow forecasts
Maintaining Power BI dashboards and supporting accurate, timely reporting
Supporting payroll processes, including wage accruals, payroll cover and employee register maintenance
Loading bills of materials and costs into MYOB Advanced and maintaining related reporting information
Following finance controls and ensuring transactions and approvals are properly supported
What you’ll bring
Experience in a hands-on accounting role, with the ability to manage regular deadlines and competing priorities
A sound understanding of month-end accounting, reconciliations, journals and accruals
Strong attention to detail and a practical, organised approach to getting work completed
The confidence to investigate discrepancies, follow up queries and raise issues early
Clear communication skills and a helpful approach when supporting colleagues and suppliers
Good Excel skills; experience with MYOB Advanced/Acumatica and Power BI would be an advantage
Experience in manufacturing or FMCG accounting would be highly regarded
An accounting qualification or relevant equivalent experience; CA/CPA study or membership would be an advantage
This is a role for someone who enjoys owning the detail, keeping things moving and making sure the numbers can be relied on. If you’re looking for a hands-on position where your work supports a growing New Zealand food business, we’d like to hear from you.
