Muse Boutique is a celebrated name in the world of luxury fashion, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of local and international designer collections. MUSE is your sanctuary for style. With an ever-expanding e-commerce platform and three boutiques nationwide, Muse Boutique is renowned for its elevated service and meticulous attention to detail.

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially astute, hands-on Head of Finance & Operations to work alongside our Owner and General Manager – Retail & Buying to help guide the business through its next stage of growth.

This is a broad leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys the detail as much as the bigger picture: bringing financial discipline, strong people practices and effective systems together to support a distinctive retail business.

If you love fashion and looking to grow your career within a leading luxury fashion brand, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead annual budgets, forecasts and financial planning across stores, online and the wider business

  • Manage business operations, internal controls and the systems that connect ecommerce, POS, inventory, accounting and payroll.

  • Own human resources across Muse, including employment processes, policies, contracts, remuneration frameworks and people-related compliance, while supporting retail leaders with day-to-day people management.

  • Partner with the GM on sales targets, buying budgets, stock investment, sell-through and margin performance.

  • Turn commercial information into clear priorities and practical action across the business.

  • Work with the Owner on strategy, growth opportunities and major projects, balancing ambition with commercial sustainability.

Requirements

  • Proven senior finance leadership combined with meaningful operational responsibility; experience in fashion, premium retail, wholesale or another stock-led business would be advantageous.

  • Sound financial acumen, exceptional commercial judgement and confidence with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and retail performance measures.

  • Practical understanding of New Zealand HR and employment processes and the confidence to own this important function.

  • Experience improving systems, data quality, controls and ways of working.

  • A collaborative, pragmatic and approachable leadership style, with the flexibility to operate in a hands-on, owner-led business.
