WHO WE ARE
At Nanny Goat Vineyard, we’re passionate about showcasing exceptional Central Otago wine with genuine, down-to-earth hospitality. Based at our beautiful Cellar Door in Queensberry, you’ll join a small, passionate team who love what they do, have fun doing it and aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

If you know how to make people feel welcome and have a genuine love of wine, we'd love to have you join the herd.

THE ROLE & WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
Reporting to our Cellar Door Manager, you'll be one of the faces of Nanny Goat, welcoming visitors, sharing our wines and creating memorable Cellar Door experiences.

What’s on offer:

  • Permanent part-time, 3 days per week
  • $30 per hour + KiwiSaver
  • Work from our beautiful Queensberry vineyard and Cellar Door
  • Opportunity for additional hours during our busier periods
  • Represent and share an award-winning Central Otago wine brand
  • Opportunity to participate in our Wine Club incentive
  • A hands-on role where no two days are quite the same

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
From welcoming guests and hosting tastings to supporting events and keeping the Cellar Door looking its best, you'll help bring the Nanny Goat experience to life.

You’ll:

  • Welcome guests and deliver engaging, memorable wine experiences
  • Host tastings and support group bookings
  • Help deliver consumer, trade and Cellar Door events
  • Build relationships with visitors and support our Wine Club and loyalty program
  • Keep the Cellar Door stocked, presented beautifully and ready for guests
  • Assist with food preparation while maintaining food safety and health & safety standards
  • Pitch in wherever needed. We’re a small team and everyone gets their hands dirty!

ABOUT YOU
You love working with people, have a genuine interest in wine and don't take yourself too seriously. You're comfortable jumping between hosting guests, pouring wine, preparing food and getting the Cellar Door ready for a busy day.

You’ll bring:

  • Great customer service skills and the confidence to chat with all kinds of people
  • A proactive attitude. If it's quiet, you're someone who finds something useful to do
  • The ability to work independently while also being a great team player
  • Basic food preparation and handling experience
  • A current Duty Manager's Certificate or equivalent for serving alcohol
  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, events, wine or travel would be a bonus

Wine knowledge is great, but personality, curiosity and a genuine love of creating great experiences matter just as much.
