An established electronic security provider is looking for an experienced Security Technician to join its Wellington team. You'll be working on commercial and industrial client sites, undertaking fault-finding, servicing, installing and commissioning systems. Unlike many technician roles, you'll also be involved in site scoping, solution design and quotation preparation, allowing you to contribute throughout the full project lifecycle. For the right person, this represents a rare opportunity to help shape and grow our Wellington operation, develop client relationships, identify new opportunities and make a genuine impact on the direction of the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responding to scheduled service calls and fixing faults on the first visit

  • Installing, commissioning (including programming), maintaining and repairing commercial-grade systems:

    • CCTV: Milestone, NX Witness, Avigilon, Axis, Genetec

    • Access control: Gallagher, Integriti, ICT Protege GX

    • Intruder alarm systems

  • Diagnosing problems with electronic test equipment and putting compliant fixes in place

  • Communicating with clients directly: explaining the issue/s and providing practical advice

  • Completing risk assessments, job updates and service reports

  • Working to client service levels (SLAs) and the company’s health & safety standards

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Security Technician (ideally on commercial or industrial sites)

  • Hands-on experience with CCTV, access control and alarm systems

  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of IP-based/networked security systems

  • Relevant technical qualifications and supplier certifications

  • A full NZ driver licence

  • Clear communication and a customer-first attitude

  • The ability to plan your day and make sound on-site decisions

What’s on offer

  • $42 – $52 per hour, depending on experience, plus paid on-call allowance and call-out pay

  • Company van and tools of the trade

  • Ongoing training and supplier certification

  • A stable, long-term role with a well-established company

  • A supportive team and a strong focus on health & safety

Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We're interested in great technicians, not just perfect CVs. If you have strong electronic security experience, a customer-focused attitude, and the willingness to learn, we'll invest in your development through training, mentoring, and supplier certification programmes.
