About the business
My client is an established business supplying specialist industrial equipment to a wide range of businesses across New Zealand and internationally.
They work with an impressive range of products, including pressure and temperature gauges, calibration equipment and gas detection, just to name a few. From importing and distributing to manufacturing, calibrating, certifying and repairing equipment, there's plenty happening in this business.
Together, we are looking to hire a Technical Sales Support, to keep things ticking behind the scenes to support the Sales Reps and longstanding customers.
Based in Penrose, you'll be joining a long standing team in a collaborative environment where people know each other, support one another and aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and lend you a hand. You'll have an approachable GM and manager, a team that enjoys a laugh and the occasional four legged office visitor!
The day to day
This is a role where no two days are quite the same. You'll be an important part of the internal sales and support team, working alongside external sales representatives and customers to make sure they have the right products, information and support when they need it.
You'll get to know the products inside and out, understand what different customers are trying to achieve and learn which products will best solve their problems. Some days you'll be working through customer enquiries and preparing quotes; other days you might be down in the warehouse checking stock, looking for products or getting orders ready for a sales rep heading out to see a client.
A few things you'll be involved in:
We're open minded about your background. You might come from plumbing, gas, HVAC, construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial supply or technical sales support.
What matters most is how you approach things. You're naturally curious, enjoy understanding how things work and get genuine satisfaction from helping someone find a solution. You're comfortable talking to people, happy to pick up the phone and aren't someone who waits to be told what to do when there's a problem to solve.
Ideally, you'll bring:
What's in it for you?
A starting salary of $65k - $70k depending on the experience you bring, with the chance to build a career in a specialist industry without needing to know everything from day one.
You'll join a stable, established business with a genuinely good team environment. Think shared lunches, team events and colleagues who enjoy coming into work everyday.
You'll be given the training and support to become an expert in a niche product range, with the opportunity to develop your technical capabilities over time. If you discover you enjoy the sales side, there's potential to progress into an external sales role and get out on the road.
And the practical perks? Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, free onsite parking in Penrose and your weekends to yourself.
If you're someone who enjoys working with people, figuring things out and getting stuck in, I'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to tick every box. If you've got the right attitude, a practical mindset and an interest in learning something new, this could be a great next step.
Apply now with an up to date resume or get in touch with Hayley at Fred Recruitment for a confidential chat.
I'd love to tell you more!
