Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical control solutions across their operation.
We are looking for a technically strong engineering professional with extensive experience in Control Systems, Instrumentation, Industrial Networks, Fieldbus Technologies, and Process Automation. This role requires a leader who can drive operational excellence while staying at the forefront of evolving control system technologies
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering (NQF Level 6).
- BSc/BEng in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Instrumentation Engineering advantageous.
- Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA.
- GCC Factories preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership on control and instrumentation projects.
- Maintain and optimize plant automation and process control systems.
- Support the development and implementation of control system strategies.
- Oversee industrial communication networks and fieldbus infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations on complex process control issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across instrumentation and control systems.
- Manage and mentor engineering and technical teams.
- Evaluate and implement emerging control system technologies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve operational efficiencies and plant performance.
- Support safety, reliability, and production objectives through effective control system management
- Minimum 10 years' experience within Control & Instrumentation environments.
- Minimum 5 years' management experience leading engineering or technical teams.
- At least 5 years' experience working with industrial fieldbus technologies, including:
- Profibus
- Profinet
- Ethernet/IP
- Strong understanding of:
- Process Control Systems
- Industrial Automation
- Instrumentation
- Ethernet Networking
- Industrial Communications
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards, specifications, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and technical reporting abilities.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Medical Certificate of Fitness.
- Ability to perform in a technically demanding industrial environment.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
