Breakfast Host

Clarence is a well-established restaurant and hotel in the heart of Tauranga, known for quality food, warm hospitality and a strong events offering. We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated hospitality professional to join our team in a key morning role.

The role

You will open the venue each morning, set the tone for the day and deliver an excellent breakfast experience to our hotel guests and restaurant customers — independently, and to a consistently high standard.

Alongside breakfast service, you will set up our function and event spaces for the day’s bookings before handing over to our Restaurant & Venue Manager. It is a varied, responsible and rewarding role for someone who thrives working independently and takes real pride in what they do.

What you will be doing

• Opening the venue and preparing for service

• Delivering warm, professional breakfast service to hotel guests and restaurant customers

• Acting as certified Duty Manager on premises during your shift

• Setting up function and event spaces for the day ahead

• Completing a thorough handover to the manager each day

What we are looking for

• A current Duty Manager’s Certificate — this is essential for the role

• Solid front of house experience in hospitality

• Comfortable running the show independently and an eye for detail.

• Someone who is confident and reliable

• Availability for early starts and rostered weekends and public holidays.

• A genuine love of hospitality and a commitment to making guests feel welcome

• Strong communication skills and excellent presentation
