WHO WE ARE: Southern Paprika Limited (SPL) Located in Warkworth, just north of Auckland, Southern Paprika Limited (today known as SPL) is New Zealand’s largest single-site glasshouse operation and one of the country’s leading producers of hothouse vegetables. It operates 26 hectares of modern glasshouses on an 86 - hectare site, growing capsicums and tomatoes, alongside a smaller volume of snacking cucumbers. In 2023, SPL became a wholly owned subsidiary of Market Gardeners Limited (MG Group).

This is an opportunity for a practical, hands-on team player to join our Maintenance team at SPL as Maintenance Technician.

THE ROLE:

·         Full time permanent role

·         40-45 Hours per week, normally 7:30am to 4-5pm

·         Located in Warkworth

·         Great friendly environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to our Maintenance Manager in their team of 8, you will assist & support with all types of maintenance of plant, equipment and buildings, including:

·         Carrying out preventative maintenance activities on glasshouse and packhouse equipment

·         Attending to breakdowns

·         Ensuring our water and irrigation systems are functioning well

·         Assisting with upkeep of our workshop, maintaining stocks of parts and equipment

·         Participate in after hours on call duty roster

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

·         A positive and good communicator

·         Can work efficiently within our busy production environment

·         Ability to diagnose and problem solve breakdowns

·         Flexibility with hours

·         Driver’s License is essential

·         Able to cope with some work in a humid glasshouse

·         Previous maintenance experience in manufacturing or production type environment would be beneficial

·         Applicable trade qualifications or certificates is favourable
