An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to support a large-scale Cyber Uplift Program within a Australian Government agency.
Starting 1 February 2027, this role will help translate cyber security, compliance and operational needs into practical technical solutions across a complex ICT environment. You’ll work closely with cyber security, architecture, engineering, infrastructure and business teams to support risk reduction, remediation and broader cyber resilience.
The role is suited to someone who can move confidently between business requirements and technical detail—analysing systems, identifying gaps and dependencies, and developing clear designs and documentation to support delivery.
What you’ll do
Analyse and document business, functional and technical requirements for cyber uplift initiatives.
Develop system specifications, solution designs, process models, integration diagrams and data flows.
Support work across vulnerability management, security remediation, identity and access management, security operations, cloud security and compliance.
Assess existing systems to identify security gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Work with technical and business stakeholders to shape requirements and support timely implementation.
Contribute to accreditation and assurance activities, including System Security Plans and Security Risk Assessments.
Support feasibility assessments, testing, defect management, quality reviews and ongoing system improvements.
Provide guidance and feedback to colleagues, and help coordinate priorities, resources and work plans.
What you’ll bring
Demonstrated experience delivering cyber security uplift, remediation, resilience or compliance initiatives in a large and complex ICT environment.
Strong systems analysis skills, including requirements definition, feasibility assessment and solution or systems design.
Practical experience applying security frameworks such as the PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight and relevant risk management standards.
Experience working across areas such as vulnerability management, IAM, security operations, cloud or infrastructure security, and system accreditation.
Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, and cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
The ability to develop clear technical artefacts and communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience within Australian Government or another regulated environment will be highly regarded.
Security clearance
A current NV1 security clearance is required for this opportunity.
