Preparing reports, reviewing processes and looking for ways to improve how the department operates.
Providing support and taking responsibility for the department's operations in the absence of the Director.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and enjoys working with people. You will have experience in administration or education, ideally within the international education sector, and be confident managing the day-to-day running of a busy department.
You will bring:
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and confidence communicating with a wide range of people.
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, particularly when working with agents, families and external partners.
Excellent organisational and administration skills, with good attention to detail.
The ability to manage competing priorities and keep things on track in a busy environment.
Confidence working independently, using your initiative and making sound decisions.
Experience supporting or coordinating a team and the ability to step up when the Director is away.
A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
An understanding of the importance of student wellbeing, cultural awareness and providing a positive student experience.
Good computer skills and confidence using databases and office systems.
Experience in the New Zealand international education sector and knowledge of the International Student Code of Practice would be an advantage. Experience in a secondary school environment would also be beneficial.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes ownership, is happy to get involved and enjoys being part of a team.
