Accounts Payable Administrator
Great with numbers? Enjoy variety? Come join our team!
Cabernet Foods Group | Taupiri, Waikato
Permanent | 30–35 hours per week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours
Love a tidy reconciliation, get satisfaction from solving an invoice mystery, and enjoy working with people as much as numbers? We’d love to hear from you!
At Cabernet Foods Group, we’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator who brings accuracy, initiative and a positive attitude. You’ll keep our accounts payable running smoothly across multiple entities while getting involved in the wider business.
If you enjoy variety, taking ownership and being someone your team can count on, this could be your next great move.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with our Assistant Accountant and Financial Controller, you’ll:
Keep supplier invoices, credit notes and expenses moving through accurately and on time.
Ensure invoices have the right approvals, supporting documents and coding.
Prepare payment runs and keep suppliers informed.
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
Help keep month-end on track with reconciliations, reporting and accurate records.
Maintain supplier information and follow sound financial controls.
Spot opportunities to make everyday processes work better.
There’s variety built into your week, too. Each Wednesday, you’ll step into the Administration Officer role, supporting customer orders, invoicing, dispatch paperwork and our warehouse, production and transport teams.
You’ll also provide leave cover for the Administration Officer and established Assistant Accountant processes, with training, clear handovers and support along the way.
What you’ll bring
You know your way around accounts payable and enjoy getting the details right. Ideally, you’ll have:
Around 3–5 years of accounts payable or finance administration experience.
Experience with multiple entities, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
A sound understanding of New Zealand GST, month-end processes and financial controls.
Confidence using accounting or ERP systems and intermediate Excel skills.
The organisation to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
A friendly, professional communication style and a willingness to pitch in.
Curiosity, initiative and a practical approach to solving problems.
Experience in accounts receivable, general accounting, food processing, manufacturing, warehousing or logistics would be a bonus, as would an accounting or bookkeeping qualification.
Why join us?
Enjoy a permanent role with a mix of finance and operational administration.
Build your knowledge across the wider business with training and support.
Work alongside a team that works hard, enjoys a laugh and takes pride in doing the small things well.
Have variety in your week and the opportunity to make a real difference
Be part of a workplace where your ideas and initiative are valued.
Our values are part of how we work: we care, we learn, we deliver and we all belong. We appreciate people who take ownership, share ideas and bring a positive approach to the day.
Sound like your kind of role?
We’d love to meet you! Apply with your CV and cover letter, telling us about your accounts payable experience, your work across multiple entities and what you’d bring to our team.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
We’ll review applications as they arrive, so if this sounds like your next move, don’t wait—apply today!
