Lead the teams. Elevate the work. Make every installation count.
Bring your commercial furniture installation expertise to Interior Installations and help shape how exceptional work gets done. As Field Operations Manager, you’ll combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution—developing installation teams, solving service challenges, and delivering quality client experiences from scheduling through completion.
What you’ll do
· Build and develop strong teams. Hire, train, coach, and develop installation employees, temporary staff, and subcontractors. Mentor lead installers in project analysis, work planning, labor management, client relations, and project administration.
· Lead with clarity. Define role responsibilities and skill requirements, assess employee performance, recommend role assignments and wage increases, and address employee relations and discipline. Partner with leadership to identify and close training gaps.
· Deliver a better client experience. Help establish and monitor service standards and client satisfaction criteria. Resolve installation and service issues proactively, participate in quality reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
· Keep projects moving. Schedule installations, coordinate staffing with Project Management, and partner with administrative staff to maintain safe, organized workflows from scheduling to completion.
· Stay connected to the field. Visit job sites to confirm readiness before dispatch, conduct regular unplanned quality inspections, support installation work on site as needed, and maintain professional communication among installation teams, clients, and sales personnel. Attend departmental meetings and client appointments.
· Support profitable operations. Help develop the division scorecard, monitor budgets and expenditures, and prepare competitive, profitable quotes for complex, uncommon, and wall installation jobs. Shape operational policies and procedures that balance productivity, efficiency, profitability, and quality.
· Keep equipment ready. Research tools, machinery, and equipment; evaluate specifications and upgrade needs; and maintain accurate inventory, accountability, and maintenance of installation equipment.
· Champion safety. Develop and uphold division safety policies and standards. Lead safety meetings, audits, inspections, follow-up assessments, and hands-on onboarding training. Oversee the distribution, tracking, reporting, and return of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Use technology effectively. Apply digital tools to daily operations, maintain proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project, and stay current on industry regulations, trends, and technology. Take on other duties as needed.
What you’ll bring
· Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of commercial furniture installation management experience.
· Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
· Communication and leadership: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
· Planning expertise: The ability to analyze, plan, schedule, and implement installations, and read construction drawings, furniture specification plans, and architectural drawings.
· Technical depth: Strong knowledge of products, building codes, correct and custom product applications, pricing, estimating and solicitation, electricity, and cabling.
· Industry knowledge: A strong understanding of contract furniture operations, including account and project management, order preparation and management, installation, relocation, and administration.
· Related operational knowledge: Working knowledge of interior construction and design, moves and relocations, trucking, furniture manufacturing and shipping, building management, and current workplace issues.
