This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
The schedule consists of working Sunday (IP 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and Monday through Thursday (OP 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM) in the first week. In the second week, the schedule includes Monday through Friday (OP 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, except Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Weekend coverage is required as needed.
Job Description
The Occupational Therapist will provide skilled outpatient therapy services in a hospital-based outpatient setting, primarily in outpatient rehabilitation and occasionally in inpatient rehab settings. The candidate will work with a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics, addressing conditions such as neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, and more.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to develop effective treatment plans.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques to enhance patients' functional abilities and daily living skills.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
- Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary using the Epic charting system.
Required Experience
At least 1 year of experience in outpatient therapy, with a focus on neuro rehabilitation, orthopedic conditions, and pediatrics.
Certifications/Licensure
A valid Occupational Therapist license is required; compact license must be in hand at submission. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
