We are looking for two experienced Cooks to join our team at Café Miko, Auckland Botanic Gardens, Manurewa, Auckland for our busy summer season.
These are part-time, fixed-term positions, working 20 hours per week through until 30 April 2027.

What the role will cover
Working as part of the Café Miko team, you will help us provide high-quality food and a great experience for our customers.
Preparing and cooking café food to a consistently high standard
Following recipes, menus, portion and presentation standards
Supporting food preparation and service during busy periods
Maintaining appropriate food quality, presentation and portion control
Following food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen and food preparation environment
Assisting with stock rotation, storage and waste management
Working effectively with the wider Café Miko team to provide efficient and friendly service
Completing other reasonable kitchen and food preparation duties as required.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people who:
Have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant cooking experience, ideally gained in a busy café, retail food or similar hospitality environment
Are confident preparing and cooking food in a busy hospitality environment
Have a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Can work efficiently and maintain quality during busy service periods
Are reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team
Have a positive attitude and commitment to providing a great customer experience
Are willing and able to work 20 hours per week on a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays as required.
