About the role

You will work alongside your manager on live client work, taking on day-to-day technical and client tasks so the operations function can scale. The role sits where finance, data and technology meet: one hour you might be tracing why a client's data does not match, the next you are configuring an approval process for a new region, then running a query to confirm a fix landed cleanly. This is not a pure developer role and not a pure finance role. We need someone who understands how hotel finance teams work, is strong with data and scripting, and can explain technical findings to finance users in plain English. Over time you will take ownership of client areas in your own right.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the data exchanges between our platform and clients' finance and hotel systems, and investigate when data does not arrive or does not match.
  • Analyse data files and query results to find the root cause of an issue and confirm it is resolved.
  • Coordinate data corrections and reprocessing with client IT and finance teams.
  • Build and maintain scripts that automate repetitive data and operational tasks.
  • Configure approval workflows, user roles and access for clients operating across many hotels and regions.
  • Adapt configuration as client finance processes change, testing changes before they go live.
  • Process access and change requests with a clear audit trail.
  • Maintain client reports and dashboards, and update them when source data changes.
  • Write and tune the SQL queries behind reports.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for our support team.

About you

  • 3 or more years in a technical role such as integration analyst, application support, systems analyst, finance systems or DevOps.
  • Strong SQL: writing queries, joins and aggregates, and investigating data.
  • Scripting experience, for example PowerShell or Python, to automate data handling and routine tasks.
  • Working knowledge of a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of core finance concepts: general ledger, chart of accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journals and month end.
  • Experience working with structured data files and system-to-system integrations.
  • Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Desirable: Hospitality experience, particularly hotel finance, income or night audit, or a shared service centre.
  • Desirable: Exposure to hotel property management, ERP or accounting systems.
