Build relationships. Win new business. Help solve healthcare skill shortages.

Prospect Health is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Business Development Executive to help grow our established healthcare recruitment business across Australia and New Zealand.

This isn’t a new desk or an unproven service.

We’ve been helping UK-trained healthcare professionals relocate to Australia and New Zealand for years. We’ve already placed more than 100 GPs into Australia and work with a number of large healthcare groups.

Now we’re seeing increasing numbers of GPs, Dentists and Pharmacists interested in making the move and we want to expand the network of healthcare organisations we work with.

The opportunity

In some areas, we already have clinicians looking for opportunities.

We need more clients to introduce them to.

Your role will be to build relationships with healthcare organisations across Australia and New Zealand, understand their workforce needs and show them how Prospect Health can help.

You’ll identify and approach prospective clients, speak with decision-makers, understand their recruitment challenges, present our service, negotiate fees and commercial terms, and win new business.

You’ll also develop existing accounts, identifying where we can support clients with more clinicians and grow those relationships over time.

And you won’t be starting from scratch.

We have comprehensive directories of healthcare practices, monitor recruitment advertising to identify organisations that are actively hiring, and use technology to help identify the relevant decision-makers.

We have the market intelligence.

We have the candidate pipelines.

Your job is to turn that into conversations, relationships and new business.

Become a specialist in your market

Healthcare recruitment across Australia and New Zealand isn’t one uniform market.

Licensing, registration and geography all matter. There are areas where internationally trained clinicians can work and others where employers need to recruit clinicians already within the local market.

We’ll teach you how to navigate that landscape.

You’ll learn where internationally trained clinicians can work, which organisations can employ them and where our available candidates create the strongest opportunities.

Over time, you’ll develop the knowledge to connect candidate supply with client demand and recognise where the best commercial opportunities exist.

Learn the market. Spot the opportunity. Build the relationship. Win the business.

On the ground. Backed by an international team.

You’ll be part of our established Clinical team, working closely with colleagues across New Zealand, the UK and South Africa.

Being based in-market means you can speak to clients and prospects during their working day, respond quickly to opportunities and build stronger relationships locally.

But you won’t be operating alone.

You’ll work alongside colleagues involved in candidate sourcing, recruitment and delivery, with an established international team and infrastructure behind you.

What you’ll get

  • NZ$70,000–80,000 base salary

  • Uncapped commission

  • An established and proven service to take to market

  • Existing clients and relationships

  • Growing pipelines of UK-trained clinicians looking to relocate

  • Comprehensive market and practice data

  • Recruitment advertising intelligence

  • Technology to identify relevant decision-makers

  • Support from colleagues in New Zealand, the UK and South Africa

  • Training, coaching and ongoing development

  • Genuine opportunity to help grow the business

Who are we looking for?

You might already work in business development, B2B sales, recruitment, account management or another relationship-led commercial role.

You don’t need healthcare recruitment experience.

We can teach you healthcare recruitment. We’re looking for the commercial instinct and drive.

You’ll enjoy starting conversations, asking good questions, selling a solution, negotiating and closing business.

You’ll be comfortable approaching senior decision-makers and discussing fees and commercial terms, while recognising that the best recruitment partnerships are built through long-term relationships rather than a single transaction.

You’ll be curious, organised and persistent — and comfortable with the fact that not every conversation results in an immediate win.

Most importantly, you’ll want a role where your performance has a direct impact on your earnings and your career.

And this is only the beginning

Our immediate opportunity is clear:

Build more client relationships and help us place more UK-trained clinicians across Australia and New Zealand.

But our ambition goes further.

As our client network and team grow, there’s potential to expand into local recruitment, helping those same healthcare organisations recruit clinicians already working within Australia and New Zealand.

For the right person, that creates the opportunity to grow with the market, take on greater responsibility and play a significant role in building our local recruitment operation.

If you enjoy winning new business, building long-term commercial relationships and turning opportunities into results, we’d like to hear from you.
