Project Manager - Water Infrastructure
Your new company
You will be joining an established civil engineering contractor delivering a significant water infrastructure project in the North East. The business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a package of civils works based between the Durham office and a live project in Blyth.
Your new role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, splitting your time approximately 50/50 between the Durham office and the site in Blyth. The project involves the installation of a 1,200m³ storage tank and associated pipe nest, with significant reinforced concrete, shaft sinking, sheet piling and excavation works. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the project through to successful delivery
Overseeing subcontractors and coordinating site activities
Managing reinforced concrete works and concrete pours
Overseeing shaft sinking, sheet piling and associated temporary works
Coordinating the installation of the 1,200m³ storage tank and pipework
Monitoring programme, cost, quality and health & safety
Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, designers and other project stakeholders
Managing project documentation, reporting, progress meetings and delivery programmes
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and water infrastructure. You will ideally have:
Proven Project Management experience on heavy civils or water projects
Strong reinforced concrete and concrete pour experience
Experience of shaft sinking and sheet piling
Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work packages
Good understanding of temporary works, excavation and underground infrastructure
Strong commercial, programme and health & safety awareness
The ability to work 50% from the Durham office and 50% on site in Blyth
