We are looking for a Service Estimator to join our national Service team, with the successful candidate able to be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of electronic security systems who wants to move into a technical, office-based role.
You may already be working as an estimator, or you might be an experienced security technician looking to come off the tools and use your technical knowledge in a different way.
Working closely with our Service Managers, Service Coordinators, technicians, suppliers and customers, you will prepare accurate and commercially sound quotations for service, repair, upgrade and minor works opportunities.
What you'll be doing
Reviewing service requirements, technician recommendations and customer requests
Preparing quotations for repairs, upgrades and minor works
Interpreting technical information, site requirements and scopes of work
Estimating labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements
Obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing where required
Identifying appropriate equipment and technical solutions
Working with our Service teams to ensure quotations are accurate, practical and commercially sound
Following up outstanding information and helping move opportunities through the quotation process
Maintaining accurate quote and job information within our systems
What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll have experience in the electronic security industry, with knowledge across areas such as:
CCTV
Access control
Intrusion detection
Intercoms and related electronic security systems
Previous estimating experience would be highly regarded, but it isn't essential.
We're equally interested in experienced electronic security professionals who have strong technical knowledge and are ready to develop their commercial and estimating skills.
You'll also bring:
Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills
The ability to interpret scopes and identify labour and material requirements
Good attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commercial awareness when preparing quotations
Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
The ability to manage multiple quotes and priorities in a busy Service environment
