EVENING COOK - 3 EVENINGS PER WEEK

 

Bidwill Hospital, located in Timaru, is a modern, purpose-built private surgical hospital. With just 15 inpatient beds, a 14-bed day surgery unit, and 3 fully equipped operating theatres Bidwill is small enough to provide quality personalised care and attention while rivaling the best facilities across the country.

They need a skilled cook to work 3 evenings a week, creating delicious meals and desserts for patients (as well as baking for staff morning teas!).

What you will be doing:

• Food preparation
• Cooking meals, desserts, snacks, and baking
• Cleaning and kitchen maintenance
• Delivering meals to patients in their rooms

 

Days and hours:

• Monday to Wednesday, 4 - 7 pm
• Rostered Saturdays - once a month
• Flexibility to cover leave is a plus

 

What we are looking for:

• Someone with proven kitchen/cooking experience
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety
• Available for the days/hours listed above
• Able to commit to the role long term

 

This will start as a temporary assignment, with the opportunity to become permanent. 

 

Applicants must:

• Have NZ work rights
• Pass drug screening
• Provide referees contactable by phone
• Complete Stafford registration process including criminal history check, ACC check, and Police Vetting 
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
