We're looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to help lead our retail store and deliver the exceptional experience Sabato is known for.
Supporting the Store Manager, you'll play a key role in motivating the team, maintaining high standards, and ensuring the store runs smoothly. You will build strong relationships with our diverse customer base, from passionate first time or long-term home cooks to professional chefs, while sharing your knowledge and love of quality food and ingredients.
We're looking for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and enjoys creating memorable customer experiences; you may come from a retail or hospitality background.
A genuine passion for fine food and a desire to provide top level customer service is essential, as is a great sense of humour. Experience with European food and culture, along with the confidence to showcase simple, delicious dishes using our premium ingredients, would be a real advantage.

Your key responsibilities and tasks would include:
Maintaining an exceptional retail environment and customer experience second to none
Promoting and demonstrating key product lines
Stock management
Supervising and supporting retail store team members
Assisting the Retail Store Manager with rosters and ordering
Ensuring merchandising is of a high standard, products are well stocked and the store is immaculately clean and tidy at all times
Assisting with events and cooking classes
Compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety & Liquor License legislation
Your background, experience and attributes will include:
Knowledge and regular usage of gourmet food
Ability to drive sales, achieve and exceed set targets
A breadth of previous customer-facing experience. Staff management, rostering, ordering, and reporting experience would be an advantage
Excellent organizational skills
Confidant using point of sale, EFTPOS and MS Office products
A current Duty Managers Certificate or willingness to get one
Well-presented with excellent written and verbal English and communication skills
The role is a full-time salaried position, working rostered hours which include one weekend day. Our store opening hours are generally Monday to Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The role reports to the Retail Store Manager and its nature requires the flexibility to be available for very occasional evening events and cooking classes.
