Are you the one your family, church and community already turn to when life gets heavy?
At Pacific Growth Services, we believe every Pacific family carries its own strengths, stories and dreams for the next generation. As our Whānau Ora Navigator, you’ll walk alongside Pacific whānau facing high and complex needs, building trust, restoring hope, and supporting them to chart their own course toward wellbeing, self-determination and a brighter future for their children and grandchildren.
This mahi is grounded in the vā, the sacred space between people. It’s about showing up with alofa, respect and humility, listening deeply, and honouring the voice of every generation in the family, from the little ones to our elders. No two days are the same. You’ll be out in the community, in homes, churches and agency meetings, connecting and advocating so whānau get the right support at the right time.
Your Mahi
Walk alongside Pacific whānau to identify their strengths and aspirations, and build whānau-led plans to reach them
Work in a trauma-informed, strengths-based way, guided by Pacific values and the Ngā Vaka o Kāiga Tapu frameworks
Help whānau navigate health, housing, education, employment and social services, and access what they’re entitled to
Advocate for whānau in inter-agency spaces so their voice shapes the response
Build strong connections with churches, Pacific community leaders, marae, iwi, kaupapa Māori services and other Navigators across the Bay of Plenty
Capture whānau progress and stories using the Whānau Ora Progression Framework, so their journey is seen, valued and helps shape better systems
