Position Overview
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Generalist is responsible for performing diagnostic tests within the laboratory. This position requires a broad skill set and flexibility to float among various laboratory departments as needed.
Shift Details
- Days: Monday – Thursday
- Hours: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various diagnostic tests including blood banking, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, chemistry, and limited microbiology.
- Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and quality control.
- Collaborate with other lab staff and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results.
Qualifications
- Certification: MT/MLS ASCP or AMT required.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Skills: Generalist capabilities with proficiency in running a variety of diagnostic tests.
Facility Information
Facilities feature 149 beds, providing a range of services and a collaborative work environment.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to float within different laboratory departments as needed.
- Attire: Red and black scrubs are required.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically MedHost.
