Lead meaningful quality and compliance initiatives that support Synlait's global growth.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Compliance Manager to join our team in a pivotal 12-month fixed-term role, supporting our China SAMR registration renewal programme and helping drive quality and compliance excellence across the business.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile programme with significant commercial importance while working alongside experts across Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Supply Chain.

If you enjoy solving complex compliance challenges, influencing across teams, and driving actions through to completion, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll play a key role in ensuring Synlait remains audit-ready, compliant, and well-positioned in one of our most important export markets.

  • Lead quality-related activities associated with China SAMR registration renewal, providing guidance and direction across the business.

  • Drive the completion of audit and compliance actions, ensuring evidence and documentation are in place to demonstrate compliance.

  • Manage quality and compliance projects from planning through to implementation, ensuring key milestones, timelines and deliverables are achieved.

  • Review procedures, reports and supporting documentation to ensure they are accurate, complete and audit-ready.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify compliance risks, close gaps and implement sustainable improvements.

  • Prepare teams for internal, customer and regulatory audits by helping them understand requirements and present information effectively.

  • Champion a culture of quality, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a confident and influential quality professional who can build relationships, navigate complexity, and deliver results.

  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance, Compliance, Food Safety or Regulatory Affairs within dairy, infant formula, food manufacturing, FMCG or another highly regulated industry.

  • Strong experience preparing for audits and managing compliance programmes or regulatory requirements.

  • A thorough understanding of food safety, quality systems and regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and follow through across multiple teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under pressure.

  • Experience with China market requirements, SAMR registration, or export market compliance would be highly advantageous.

  • A relevant auditing qualification would be advantageous.
