About the role

BakerAg is looking for a graduate with a passion for the dairy industry to join the team as a Trainee Dairy Advisor in January 2027. This is a full-time development role designed to provide a pathway to becoming a BakerAg Dairy Advisor within two years. You'll start with training in the Masterton office before moving to the Feilding team, expected within six months. From the outset, you'll be involved in real consultancy work, including BakerAg's delivery of a Farm Efficiency Advice Project.

Key responsibilities

• Farm data analysis

• FARMAX modelling

• Dairy System Monitoring (DSM)

• Farmer communication and on-farm meetings

• Develop broader advisory skills across farm systems, animal and pasture performance, financial and business planning, people management and environmental management

About you

• Relevant tertiary degree

• Strong analytical skills

• Eye for detail

• Ability to build good working relationships with farmers, colleagues and other rural professionals

• Experience with FARMAX Dairy Pro (advantageous but not essential)

• New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
