About the role

This is a production leadership role responsible for effective day-to-day leadership and supervision of the afternoon production shift. You will lead by example, working alongside team members to achieve production requirements, coordinate daily production activities, and maintain a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective day-to-day leadership and supervision of the afternoon production shift

• Lead by example, working alongside team members to achieve production requirements

• Allocate tasks, coordinate workloads and ensure staff remain productive throughout the shift

• Set clear expectations around attendance, performance, behaviour and workplace standards

• Address inappropriate behaviour, poor performance and non-compliance promptly and professionally, escalating matters to the Production Manager where required

• Promote a positive, respectful and accountable team culture

• Support the training, development and upskilling of production staff

• Maintain effective communication between the afternoon shift, day shift and Production Manager

• Coordinate daily production activities to meet agreed schedules and deadlines

• Actively assist with manufacturing, filling, packing, cleaning and other production duties

About you

• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality requirements and standard operating procedures are followed

• Monitor production quality and promptly report any errors, defects or deviations

• Ensure production documentation and records are completed accurately

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance

• Ensure equipment and production areas are cleaned and maintained to the required standards

• Take responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment throughout the afternoon shift

• Ensure staff follow all Health & Safety procedures, including the safe handling of chemicals and operation of manufacturing equipment

• Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents and unsafe behaviour

• Ensure factory security procedures are followed, including the security of buildings, gates, access points and equipment

• Take responsibility for completing end-of-shift security checks and ensuring the factory is left safe and secure
