Rothesay Bay, North Shore, Auckland

Permanent part-time, 2 to 3 days a week | From 40% commission

We're the dentists chickens aren't scared of. For 20 years our Remuera practice, Dentistry for Chickens, has been built around one idea: the best dentistry builds confidence, not fear.

We're bringing Dentistry for Chickens to an established practice in Rothesay Bay on the North Shore. The practice has a strong reputation for quality hygiene and periodontal care, and a loyal base of patients who come back regularly for it. We're looking for an oral health therapist or dental hygienist to continue that care, with a busy book on your days from day one.

Why Dentistry for Chickens

  • A modern, well-designed multi-surgery practice, set among local shops and services

  • A perioscope in the clinic for advanced periodontal assessment and treatment

  • Air polishing for comfortable, efficient hygiene care

  • Existing, loyal patient base with appointments booked for several months plus regular recalls

  • Flexible days to suit you

  • Support from our Remuera team of dentists, oral health therapists and a clinical dental technician

  • A dedicated management team handles staffing, admin, systems and marketing, so you can focus on your patients

Perioscope training

The successful candidate will be offered a place on a three-day, live-patient, hands-on course in perioscope use and advanced periodontal care, at no cost to you.

The role

You'll provide hygiene and periodontal care for an established patient base on 2 to 3 days a week, with some care for private child patients too if you're an OHT, building long-term relationships with patients who value their regular care.

Remuneration

From 40% commission, increasing with your level of experience.

About you

  • 3+ years' experience as an oral health therapist or dental hygienist

  • Skills in periodontal treatment are highly desirable

  • Perioscope experience is preferred, but not required, as full training is provided

  • A calm, considerate approach, particularly with nervous patients

  • Current Dental Council of New Zealand registration and NZ work rights

Timing and applications

The ideal start is late November 2026, with flexibility to start in early January 2027 for the right person.

Please apply with your CV through SEEK. Applications are treated confidentially, and we're happy to have an informal chat first. Email [email protected].
