About us and the role

Whitehall Fruitpackers is one of the Waikato's leading horticultural businesses, with more than 300 canopy hectares of green, red and gold kiwifruit, including a strong organic production focus. Our operations also extend across dairy farming, dry stock, tourism and apiaries, providing a varied and interesting role. Reporting to our CFO, you'll be part of a small finance team, supporting multiple entities. This is a hands-on role working amongst kiwifruit vines and in brand new office building with a pool and gym.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational decision-making

• Support year-end reporting and preparation of financial statements

• Help improve reporting processes and systems

• Prepare GST returns and support payroll

About you

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

• CA or equivalent qualification (or be working towards it)

• Management accounting experience (or similar)

• Confident with Xero and Excel, with good analytical skills

• Clear communicator who builds good relationships

• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved

• High attention to detail and a desire to continuously improve processes

• Experience in horticulture or agriculture is a bonus but not essential
