Campervan Groomer / Rental Assistant

Location: Auckland Airport Oaks
Employment Type: Full-time, Seasonal

About Us

Big Little Campers Ltd. is a boutique, locally owned campervan rental company creating unforgettable road-trip experiences across New Zealand. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, well-maintained campervans and delivering a great experience for our customers.

We're a boutique brand that values quality, attention to detail, and doing things a little differently.

The Role

We're looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Campervan Groomer / Rental Assistant to join our Auckland team over the busy summer season.

The primary focus of this role is cleaning, grooming, and preparing campervans to a high standard between rentals, ensuring every vehicle is spotless, fully equipped, and ready for its next adventure.

This is a hands-on, physically active role where you'll be responsible for cleaning both the interior and exterior of our campervans, replenishing supplies, checking equipment, and ensuring vehicles meet our presentation standards.

You'll also assist with general depot operations, basic vehicle checks, and occasional customer handovers when required.

We're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail, and can work efficiently without compromising on quality.

Full training will be provided, so previous grooming or detailing experience is a bonus but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly cleaning and grooming campervans between hires, including interior and exterior cleaning

  • Cleaning and sanitising kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, living areas, and sleeping spaces

  • Changing bedding, replacing towels, and ensuring all linen is clean and presented to a high standard

  • Replenishing kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, and other campervan essentials

  • Inspecting vehicles for cleanliness, damage, missing items, and general wear and tear

  • Completing pre-hire preparation checklists to ensure campervans are fully equipped and ready for customers

  • Managing cleaning supplies, equipment, and keeping grooming and depot areas clean, tidy, and organised

  • Carrying out minor non-mechanical maintenance, such as adjusting loose fittings, cupboard catches, and interior fixtures

  • Assisting with vehicle movements, customer handovers, and general depot operations when required

  • Working efficiently during busy turnaround periods to ensure vehicles are ready for scheduled pickups

About You

  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing consistently high-quality work

  • Hardworking, reliable, and comfortable with physically active work

  • Able to work efficiently and manage time effectively, particularly during busy periods

  • An independent self-starter who can follow checklists and work with minimal supervision

  • A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

  • Previous experience in vehicle grooming, detailing, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or a similar role is an advantage

  • Comfortable carrying out basic practical tasks and learning new processes

  • A team player who understands the importance of getting vehicles ready on time

Requirements:

  • Full driver's licence (NZ or international)

  • Available to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays

  • Physically capable of cleaning and preparing multiple vehicles throughout the day

  • Able to maintain consistently high cleaning and presentation standards

Why Join Us?

  • Full-time seasonal role during our busiest period

  • Pay negotiable based on experience

  • Supportive, friendly, and hands-on team environment

  • Full training provided

  • Opportunity to use Big Little Campers vehicles for personal travel when available

  • Be part of a growing New Zealand campervan rental company helping travellers explore the country

If you're hardworking, reliable, and take pride in a job well done, we'd love to hear from you!

Previous vehicle grooming experience is great, but a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are what matter most.
