About the Role
Zenno Astronautics is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineering Contractor to design, develop, test, and qualify electronics for spacecraft and other high-reliability systems.
The work is broad and may include motor controllers, embedded microcontroller systems, power electronics, analogue and digital sensing, communications, protection circuitry, and supporting test hardware.
We are looking for an intermediate/senior, hands-on engineer who can take ownership of hardware from requirements and architecture through schematic design, PCB development, prototype bring-up, testing, and qualification.
This is a three-month contract, ending in early February.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop analogue, digital, embedded, and power electronics for spacecraft systems.
Take hardware through schematic capture, PCB development, bring-up, debugging, verification, and qualification.
Perform supporting engineering analysis such as worst-case analysis, derating, power budgeting, and design justification.
Support radiation assessment, environmental testing, failure investigation, and cross-functional design reviews.
Required Experience
Strong professional experience in electronics design and hardware development.
Solid fundamentals across analogue, digital, embedded, and power electronics.
Practical experience with schematic capture, PCB design, EMC/EMI, laboratory debugging, and test equipment.
Proven ability to take complex hardware from concept through prototype, test, and qualification.
Experience in space, aerospace, defence, or another high-reliability industry is strongly preferred.
Desirable Experience
Experience with radiation-tolerant electronics, TID/SEE analysis, motor or actuator control, high-current switching, DC/DC conversion, FPGA or microcontroller systems, spacecraft power systems, and environmental qualification would be highly regarded.
Familiarity with FMECA, FDIR, worst-case analysis, component derating, and relevant NASA, ESA, ECSS, MIL, or IPC standards is advantageous.
