Direct Control is the leading name in Building Automation, managing iconic sites across the Auckland region. A thriving lighting department is an integral part of the business. A new vacancy has arisen for a technician/engineer to join the team.

The position is a hands-on, field-based role at the core of Direct Control’s lighting team. You will program, commission and fault-find lighting control systems, primarily KNX and Dynalite, across commercial, hospitality, healthcare and high-end residential projects, and help develop the solutions we deliver to clients.

This role suits a qualified electrician (NZ registered, with a current practising licence) looking to develop their skills to specialise in lighting control. Fewer screwdrivers, more laptop, turning installed hardware into working, well-tuned systems. Over time, with support, the role can grow into design input, client-facing technical work and project responsibility.

This is a superb opportunity to grow your skills in a challenging and supportive organisation that traces back to the early 1990s and is still owned and managed by the co-founder.

You will be a logical problem-solver who enjoys fault-finding and working out why something isn’t doing what it should, organised and reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision once trained . You will have clear written and verbal communication, and be confident dealing with clients, contractors and consultants on site.

We are interested in talking to applicants with a "Can-do” attitude, who is a strong team player and willing to participate in the after-hours on-call roster.

Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Please apply online, or feel free to call me to discuss.
