What does a Senior Backend Java Engineer do at PALO IT?

As a Senior Backend Java Engineer at PALO IT, you will be pivotal in shaping the next wave of software innovation through the following responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications in Java (Java 8+) ensuring high availability.

  • Implement robust RESTful APIs with features like versioning, authentication, and documentation utilizing Swagger/OpenAPI.

  • Build microservices employing frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.

  • Efficiently manage and integrate relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).

  • Optimize data access through ORM frameworks such as Hibernate or JPA.

  • Develop and implement unit tests and automated API tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, and Postman/Newman.

  • Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and secure development best practices (e.g., OWASP).

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.

  • Collaborate in agile teams (Scrum) and participate actively in code reviews and pull request management.

  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance in production environments.

  • Communicate technical solutions and document APIs in English in an international setting.
