Kaiāwhina (Healthcare Assistant) / Kiripaepae (Administrator)

More Than a Job. A Chance to Make a Lasting Difference.

At Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Pikiao Trust, we believe healthcare is about more than appointments and administration. It is about strengthening whānau, advancing equity, upholding mana, and helping create a thriving future for our people.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kaiāwhina (Healthcare Assistant) / Kiripaepae (Administrator) to join our kaupapa Māori primary healthcare service in Rotorua. This is an opportunity to be part of a progressive, whānau-centred organisation committed to achieving Pae Ora, delivering care that is Tiriti-centred, equity-focused, culturally safe, and relationship-based.

If you are looking for meaningful mahi where you can support whānau, build trusted relationships, and contribute to transforming health outcomes for Māori and our wider community, we would love to hear from you.

About Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Pikiao

Ngāti Pikiao Health Services is a kaupapa Māori health provider serving whānau across Rotorua and the wider rohe.

Guided by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and grounded in the values of:

  • Manaakitanga

  • Whanaungatanga

  • Kotahitanga

  • Rangatiratanga

  • Kaitiakitanga

We deliver integrated, holistic healthcare that recognises wellbeing as encompassing physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions.

Our services operate across multiple sites, including acute and chronic care clinics, alongside community outreach services that take healthcare directly to whānau where they are.

We are proud to work within a model of care informed by Te Wheke and the NUKA System of Care, placing relationships, continuity of care, and whānau aspirations at the centre of everything we do.

As our Kaiāwhina (Healthcare Assistant) / Kiripaepae (Administrator), you will play an important role in ensuring whānau receive a welcoming, seamless, and supportive healthcare experience.

Working as part of our multidisciplinary hauora team, you will support both clinical and administrative functions while helping to create an environment where whānau feel valued, respected, and empowered.

You will:

  • Welcome and support patients, whānau, and visitors in a warm and culturally safe manner.

  • Assist healthcare professionals with basic clinical and patient support activities within your scope of practice.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and administrative systems.

  • Coordinate referrals, recalls, and follow-up appointments.

  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic and wider health services.

  • Build strong relationships with whānau and contribute to a positive patient experience.

  • Champion equitable access to healthcare services for Māori and priority populations.

  • Contribute to a service model that is holistic, whānau-led, and mana-enhancing.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while being supported by a collaborative, values-driven team.
