Ready to make a real impact?

We’re looking for an experienced Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join MOVe Logistics Group and play a key role in the next phase of our People & Culture journey.

MOVe is an NZX and ASX-listed logistics business with around 800 people across New Zealand. We operate across Freight, Fuel, Warehousing, Specialist Lifting & Transport and Oceans, with the majority of our people working in frontline operational roles. Following a significant period of transformation and reset, our focus is now firmly on growth, lifting capability, operational excellence and continuing to build a strong, accountable culture.

This is a broad and influential role where you'll work closely with leaders across the business while also helping lead and strengthen our P&C function.

The role

Reporting to the GM People & Culture, you’ll lead and coach a team of three Senior P&C Advisors and act as second-in-charge to the GM P&C. You’ll be trusted to provide pragmatic advice, challenge thinking and help turn our people strategy into practical outcomes across the business.

There’s plenty of variety. You’ll be involved in:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of three Senior P&C Advisors

  • Coaching leaders and building leadership capability

  • Leading performance management and capability initiatives

  • Designing and facilitating learning and development programmes

  • Supporting organisational change and restructuring

  • Providing senior-level ER and IR advice

  • Building effective relationships with unions and supporting negotiations

  • Driving talent reviews and succession planning

  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding for key roles

  • Leading our culture survey and turning insights into meaningful action

  • Supporting remuneration reviews and market benchmarking

  • Improving people reporting, HR systems and processes

  • Helping us continue to strengthen the P&C function as MOVe moves into its next phase of growth

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced P&C generalist who is equally comfortable working strategically with senior leaders and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • At least 7 years’ experience across People & Culture / HR

  • Strong generalist, employee relations and employment law knowledge

  • Experience working with frontline, unionised and multi-site workforces

  • Practical experience with organisational change and restructuring

  • Experience developing performance, leadership or L&D programmes

  • Confidence facilitating workshops and presenting to groups

  • Strong stakeholder management and coaching capability

  • A relevant tertiary qualification

  • Experience in logistics, transport or another operational environment would be an advantage (but not required)

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is approachable, down-to-earth and people focuses. You’ll be comfortable challenging the status quo, but you’ll also be someone who builds strong relationships, gets alongside the business and is willing to give things a go.

Why MOVe?

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional Business Partner role.

You’ll have genuine scope to influence how we develop our leaders, lift capability, strengthen our culture and continue evolving the P&C function. You’ll work across a diverse national business where P&C can make a very tangible difference to our people and our performance.

If you enjoy building, improving and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and come help us shape the next chapter at MOVe.
