Senior Commercial Broker | Team Leader
If you're a commercial insurance broker who enjoys the client side of the job but also gets a kick out of helping others get better at it, this one is worth a look.
Tyler Wren is working with a well-established insurance broker on a confidential search for a Senior Commercial Broker to lead a small team. It's a hands-on role: you'll look after your own portfolio of commercial clients while coaching and developing a group of brokers. The branch is busy, well regarded and in a part of the South Island that people tend to fall in love with.
Already leading a broking team? Great. If you're a strong Senior Commercial Broker who's ready to start managing people, our client is open to that too, and will back you as you grow into the leadership side.
Why this role, and why now
The branch is going through a natural changing of the guard. A new leader is coming in. That means genuine scope to build a bigger book and help shape what the branch looks like next. This isn't a seat-warming appointment. They want someone who'll put down roots and become a familiar face in the local business community.
What you'll be doing
What you'll bring
What's on offer
A base salary plus tools of trade, with an incentive tied to your own book. Hit budget and you earn a bonus, then share in a percentage of the revenue you bring in above it. There's some flexibility on the base for the right person. Kiwis and Australians looking to come home are very welcome, and we're happy to talk honestly about the practicalities of relocating to the area.
Good to know
Do I need to be a team leader already?
No. Strong Senior Commercial Brokers ready for their first leadership role will be considered.
What qualification is required?
The Certificate in Financial Services (NZQA Level 5), in line with FSLAA.
Is New Zealand experience essential?
It's preferred, but candidates from further afield will be considered depending on their background.
Is this a confidential process?
Yes. Everything is handled discreetly, and we'll brief you properly before every stage.
Conversations are starting now, so if this sounds like your next move, hit apply or give Gary Bloxham a call on 09 974 9072 OR Liam Nuttall on 09 930 8521 for a confidential chat.
