Associate Program 2027 · Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne

Building Australia's next technology leaders. Starting in our communities.

Blackbook AI helps Australian organisations get real value from AI, data and automation. Our Associate Program grows that capability locally, including people who didn't start out in tech, and gives them a pathway to lead, in Australia and around the world.

Pathways, not just positions

AI is changing how Australia works, and we believe the people leading that change should come from our own communities. So rather than importing talent, we grow it here.

Many great technologists didn't start out in tech. The program gives you meaningful work and support from day one, opportunities in Australia and globally, and a pathway to become one of the leaders shaping how Australian organisations use technology.

  • Hire from our communities: Growing talent here means Australia doesn't have to import the technology leaders it needs.

  • Open the door to tech: You don't need to have started on a technology path. The program is built to help people move into the field from wherever they began.

  • Grow leaders, here and globally: Build technical depth and client leadership skills with mentors behind you, with opportunities to work in Australia and around the world.

We help some of Australia's biggest organisations get AI right

Blackbook AI is an AI-driven technology consulting company. We work across artificial intelligence, automation, data and digital, from helping a client find the right first use case through to building it and scaling it across their organisation.

We're a team united by a love of technology and a commitment to making a difference. Our mission is to create AI solutions that improve lives and drive positive change.

180+ clients · 2,000+ successful projects · 15+ industries · 10+ years of getting it right

The kind of work you'd be part of

  • Rail yard scheduling optimisation: A constraint-based scheduling engine that optimises rail yard operations in real time, improving on-time performance and throughput.

  • NLP-powered insurance claims agent: An AI agent that automates claims communication, streamlines workflows and proactively monitors delays for Bus Queensland.

  • Incident report review automation: A Power Platform solution that automated incident report reviews, cutting manual workload and improving accuracy.

From your first project to leading the work

The Associate Program puts you on live client work from the start, with structured training and mentors behind you. You grow your technical and consulting skills side by side, on a clear pathway towards leading projects, teams and client relationships.

What you'll be doing

  • Joining a hands-on training program that builds both your technical and client-facing skills

  • Working in cross-functional teams to design and deliver AI solutions for real clients

  • Getting exposure to organisations across many industries, at every stage of their AI journey

  • Keeping up with the latest advances in AI and technology, and putting them to work

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and bonuses

  • Ongoing training and development

  • Mentorship from industry-leading experts

  • Flexible work and a focus on work-life balance

  • Opportunities to work in Australia and globally

  • Access to the latest AI technologies and tools

  • Clear paths for career progression within the company

Three pathways in

Technology leaders don't all start in the same place, and you don't need a tech background to begin. Our best people sit between the tech and the client: they can build the solution and explain why it matters. You might be starting from either side, or from neither yet.

  • Recent graduates: You've finished a degree in engineering, computer science, data science, IT, information systems or something close. You want hands-on work on live client projects from day one, with structured training and mentors behind you.

  • Developers moving into consulting: You can already build. Now you want to work closer to the problem: in the room with clients, shaping what gets built and seeing the impact across many organisations and industries, not one product.

  • Consultants moving into tech: You know how to run a workshop, frame a problem and manage stakeholders. Now you want to join a technology company and get hands-on with AI, data and automation, with the support to build real technical depth.

Applied AI, across data, digital and automation

Our clients' problems don't fit neatly into one specialty, so neither do our consultants. You won't pick a stream. You'll learn to work across all three, and to bring AI to each of them.

  • Applied AI: Runs through everything we do: using services such as AI Foundry, Mosaic AI, Bedrock, OpenAI and Copilot, alongside machine learning, to solve real client problems.

  • Data: Extract, transform, model and analyse data, and turn it into insights and machine learning solutions clients can act on.

  • Digital: Develop, integrate, test and support the digital solutions that put AI in front of the people who use it.

  • Automation: From robotic process automation to agentic automation: design, build and manage automations that change how work gets done.

  • And the consulting around it: On every project you'll work with clients to understand their needs, shape requirements and deliver from discovery through to go-live.
