Build deep product knowledge. Develop strong customer relationships. Grow into a sales-focused role with an ambitious SaaS company.

AgriSmart is looking for a capable, commercially driven Sales & Customer Success Representative to join our Hamilton-based team.

This is an opportunity to represent a proven workforce-management platform that helps agricultural businesses simplify employee onboarding, time and attendance, payroll, compliance, job costing, health and safety, and productivity management.

Our customers include some of New Zealand and Australia’s leading horticulture, viticulture, dairy and labour-hire businesses. AgriSmart supports organisations ranging from owner-operated businesses to large employers managing hundreds—or even thousands—of workers.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted product expert, communicate confidently with prospective customers and convert genuine business problems into successful AgriSmart solutions.

About the role

Initially, this position will be approximately:

  • 50% sales and business development

  • 50% customer support and product assistance

The customer-support component is a deliberate and important part of the role. You will work closely with our support team to develop a thorough, practical understanding of AgriSmart, our customers and the operational challenges our software solves.

This product knowledge will give you credibility in sales conversations. You will be able to demonstrate the software confidently, answer detailed questions and show prospective customers how AgriSmart can improve their day-to-day operations.

As your product knowledge and sales capability develop, the role is expected to transition progressively toward a greater focus on sales and business development, with less time spent on day-to-day customer support. This creates a genuine pathway for the successful candidate to grow into a predominantly sales-focused position.

You will also have opportunities during the year to represent AgriSmart at trade shows, conferences and industry events across New Zealand and Australia. These events will allow you to build industry connections, meet prospective customers and showcase AgriSmart to a wider market.

Your sales responsibilities will include

  • Identifying and engaging prospective customers across our target industries

  • Making outbound calls and following up inbound enquiries

  • Understanding each prospect’s workforce, payroll and compliance challenges

  • Conducting engaging online and in-person product demonstrations

  • Preparing proposals and progressing opportunities through the sales pipeline

  • Maintaining disciplined follow-up and accurate sales records

  • Building strong relationships with prospective customers, industry organisations and commercial partners

  • Representing AgriSmart at selected trade shows, conferences and industry events in New Zealand and Australia

  • Working with the wider team to refine sales messaging and identify new opportunities

  • Helping new customers transition successfully from the sales process into implementation and support

Your customer support responsibilities will include

  • Responding to customer questions by phone, email and online support channels

  • Helping customers use AgriSmart confidently and effectively

  • Investigating issues and coordinating solutions with the wider team

  • Guiding customers through features such as onboarding, timesheets, payroll, piece rates, rostering, job costing and reporting

  • Identifying opportunities for customers to gain more value from the platform

  • Sharing customer feedback to help improve our product, training and support resources

About you

You will be confident speaking with business owners, managers, payroll teams and operational staff. You will enjoy learning how businesses work and asking thoughtful questions before recommending a solution.

You are likely to bring:

  • Experience in sales, customer success, account management or business development

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • The confidence to make outbound calls and progress commercial conversations

  • A genuine interest in software and solving business problems

  • The ability to learn a detailed product and explain it clearly

  • Excellent organisation, follow-up and attention to detail

  • A professional, dependable and customer-focused approach

  • The motivation to achieve targets and earn performance-based rewards

  • The ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a close-knit team

  • The flexibility to travel occasionally within New Zealand and Australia for trade and industry events

Experience in SaaS, payroll, workforce management, horticulture, agriculture or the wider primary sector would be valuable, but it is not essential. More important is your ability to learn quickly, communicate well and take ownership of results.

What we offer

  • A competitive base salary

  • An attractive performance-based bonus scheme

  • A clear pathway toward a predominantly sales-focused role

  • Comprehensive product training and ongoing support

  • Direct exposure to the founders and key decision-makers

  • Opportunities to attend trade shows and industry events across New Zealand and Australia

  • The opportunity to sell a product that solves real operational and compliance problems

  • A varied role combining sales, customer relationships and product expertise

  • The chance to contribute ideas and influence how we grow

  • Career development within a growing New Zealand software business

  • A supportive, down-to-earth and high-performing team culture

Our culture

We are a collaborative team that values initiative, accountability and helping one another succeed.

Because this position begins across both sales and support, you will be closely connected to our customers and the rest of the AgriSmart team. You will have access to the people who develop, support and lead the product, enabling you to learn quickly and make a meaningful contribution.

We take our work seriously, but we also believe people perform at their best when they feel supported, respected and part of a genuinely good team.

This is an office-based role because close collaboration, shared learning and regular interaction with the team will be central to your success.
